This learning program is targeted to people leaders who want to learn how to create effective development plans for their direct reports. It is based on the premise that employees need to be completely engaged in the process of creating development plans so that they address real areas of opportunity and make the most of an individual’s strengths.

This process, therefore, requires people leaders to be active listeners and keen observers who can link action to intention. This workshop also involves a review of both organizational objectives and competency models to ensure alignment. Participants will use a Development Planning Scorecard to measure the quality of development planning efforts.

Participants will learn to:

  • Assess and address employees’ real and perceived areas of opportunity
  • Conduct an effective development planning session
  • Identify employees on a performance and potential scale
  • Align organizational goals with employee growth and development
